About Show Me Algarve
We live in the Algarve and wanted the guide we could never find before our own first trips here.
Show Me Algarve is a guide to the region written from our own visits. It covers the beaches and coves, the towns and villages and the places worth a detour, and soon also where to eat and what to do, with the practical details you usually only find out once you get there.
What you will find here
Every beach, place and town page is based on a visit and illustrated with our own photos. It tells you what the place is like, how to get there and park, what facilities there are and what to watch out for, such as tides or unstable cliffs. Each page shows the date of our last visit, and we come back to update it when something changes.
Alongside these guides we write planning pages for the questions every trip raises: getting from Faro Airport, whether you need a car, where to stay and which month suits you. Those are built from official timetables, laws and weather records, and each one lists its sources at the bottom.
Our photos
All photos on this site are our own, taken on the ground and from the air during our visits. If you would like to use one, please see Contact.
Independence
No business has paid to appear in our guides or to influence what we write. If that ever changes on a page, the page will say so clearly at the top.
